Artist's Comments

Based on the new Adobe Periodic Table elements coming out with CS3. The overall design community thinks it's a failure, but I quite like them. I expanded it to fit my needs, and then to fit not-my needs by throwing in alternate colors and some programs I don't use. I even added the PSD file used to create them. If you want an icon that is not included in the set, use the PSD to make your own.

Icons included: AIM, Audacity, Microsoft Excel, Windows Explorer, Filezilla, Firefox, FL Studio, foobar2000, The GIMP, Google Earth, Google Talk, Internet Explorer, IRC, iTunes, Limewire, MSN/Windows Live Messenger, Musictime Deluxe, Notepad, OpenOffice.org, Opera, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Powerpoint, Quicktime Player, Skype, Snarfer, Thunderbird, Trillian, Winamp, Winrar, Microsoft Word, Yahoo Messenger

Uber apologies for the way the three-letter ones came out. If you have any ideas on how to abbreviate them, please tell me!

IF YOU LIKE THESE, YOU MAY ALSO LIKE:
• Koregraphik's (unofficial) Adobe CS3 icon set, upon which this set is based
• !nightfire117's RoundedStud Dock Icons, which take the Adobe icon look and give them a new, glassier look
• ~AnestheticApathy's Macintosh version of this set, Periodic.
• ~inst1nct13's expansion pack, which includes some folders?! (Next step I guess is drives? I should get back to work on these.)

EDIT: There is a somewhat official (unofficial) expansion pack. Also, to avoid confusion, here is how to customize the .PSD.

1. Double-click the rounded square in the Layers pallete. Select a color.
2. On the text layer, retype the text (eg, "Eg".)
3. Select that text layer and hit Ctrl-J to duplicate it.
4. Make either one of the text layers black.
5. Rasterize/simplify the black layer and go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Give a radius of 1.
6. Place the black layer under the white text layer.
7. Save it and repeat as many times as needed.

Very nice. The Adobe icons aren't much better, so you did pretty good mocking the style. The only difference I see is that they use large (2px?) gradient borders and no black outline or whatnot. I shall be downloading this set, and I'm glad that there's a FB2K icon there, hehe. (Another Foobar user! Woo hoo!) ^^

Thank you! Yeah, I thought it was practically identical too, except for a slight variation in the gradient overlay. And yes, Foobar is indeed awesome!
